Pony Club Camps

Kilnsey Trekking and Riding Centre runs Pony Club Camps for children throughout the summer holidays. As an Approved Pony Club Centre our riding school offers children, both with and without their own horse or pony, to spend a fun-filled week learning to ride and care for their horse or pony.

Each year we offer five courses. Four are non-residential and one is residential. Each child is allocated their own horse or pony to groom, care for and ride throughout the course. Where necessary children will be split into groups based upon ability.

The day begins at 9.00am when the children collect their mounts from the field, then groom and tack-up before lessons begin. Lunch is followed by a practical horse and pony care lecture before the afternoon ride. Each day finishes with tack cleaning and a snack before home-time.

For the residential course, dormitory accomodation is provided along with 24 hour care and plenty of evening entertainment. The residential course is only open to Pony Club Members.

Throughout the week Pony Club members can work towards Mini-Acheivment and Acheivement badges. Prize giving takes place on the Friday following a gymkhana where everyone has the opportunity to show off their new skills.

More information and booking details can be found on our Bookings & Prices page.
