Advocated by The Pony Club for all members aged 12 years and over, the Riding & Road Safety test raises awareness of dangers that may be encountered whilst riding on public roads and equips riders with the skill to deal with potentially dangerous situations.
The Riding & Road Safety is required before the C test can be awarded and other BHS and Riding Club exams/tests. Lectureswill be given by official BHS trainer Angeline Briggs.
If you wish to take the test, you MUST attend all the lectures and mounted practices detailed below. The written test is based largely on the Highway Code. Candidates, who pass the written test, then go on to take their ridden test on simulated, then actual roads.
Hats must bear the CE mark and a quality symbol, either PAS 015, EN 1384, AS/NZS 3838 or Snell E2001.
Ponies/horses can be hired from the Centre if required.
